Out & About in
Grantown
Rosehall
Gue st house is ideally placed in the square and many amenities are a short
walk away. The
town itself is a fine example of 18th century planning and the Georgian
town square has pleasant grassed areas with seating for visitors and
residents to sit and relax, enjoying the frequent highland sunshine.
The High Street leads off from the square and is a wide main road
providing an ample selection of good quality shops and restaurants.
In the evening many visitors like to take an evening stroll, but should they
require it local live entertainment is on offer within easy walking
distance of our hotel.
The Grantown museum is well worth a visit, and tells how the town became
Scotland's
first planned town back in 1765, thanks to the effort of the 'Good Sir
James'.
Fantastic scenery surrounds Rosehall and all our rooms look out over the
square. There are often weekend events in the square when visitors
and townsfolk turn out to enjoy the afternoon.
Take a walk through the woods that lead to the river Spey, and during your
walk you might spot a red squirrel. Some very interesting plant life
and fungi can be noted too.
